My unpainted gryphon sculpture, all nice and shiny looking :) I was really happy with how this came out, and so was the teacher (he used it in the year end critique as an example of how a base and sculpture should work together, and just went on and on about it.. boy I was flattered :). I remember when I started this piece; I sat down and worked on it for six hours straight, and then realized that my ass really hurt (I had been sitting in a cheap metal chair the whole time :] ). It has a wooden and mesh wire base, wire frame and mesh wire for the wings, and a wire frame armature for the figure. On top of all that I used bronzing wax, which is a really nice medium to work with. It's only drawback is it's somewhat fragile nature, and the care one has to take with it. One of the things I liked doing the most on this sculpture was making his sheath and balls, mrrr :)
